National Battery was established in 1986 as a national wholesale battery supplier.  Jack Sonner served as a Director of Marketing at Lightalarms Corp since 1970, during which Lightalarms had become the second largest manufacturer of emergency lighting equipment in the world. After Lightalarms was sold in 1986, Jack formed National Battery.

The company was a pioneer in the importation and distribution of high quality sealed lead acid batteries, used in emergency lighting equipment, security systems, fire alarm and burglar systems, ups systems, wheelchairs, door locks, scooters, and many other applications.  The company later became a master distributor of Energizer alkaline batteries.  Utilizing the latest in solid state technology, National Battery started distributing its own line of emergency ballast packs in the early 1990s.  In 2008, after more than 22 years on the job, Jack retired and Stanoy Tassev became the managing partner of National Battery.   National Battery quickly extended the product offering and now distributes emergency lighting equipment for both the national and New York City market.  Among many new products we now distribute exit signs, combo boxes, and other lighting equipment.

We are conveniently located in College Point, just outside of New York City, and we have several distribution points around the country.  Orders are shipped within 24 hours  of receipt Monday through Friday, excluding holidays.  Local customers are welcome to pick up from our warehouse.  In addition, we have full capabilities to provide various logistics services.
